Yes! Our electric boats are very easy to drive. Before your departure, our staff will walk you through how everything works and answer any questions. Instructions cover the basic controls, harbor rules, areas to avoid, and how to safely navigate around other boats and potential hazards.
Each boat must be driven by a responsible member of your party. If you’d prefer a licensed captain, we can connect you with one for an additional fee. Please let us know at least 48 hours before your rental so we can help arrange it.
The Coast Guard allows up to 12 passengers (including infants). For comfort, we recommend a maximum of 10 passengers.
Our Insurance company requires you to be 21 and over to rent from us.
Yes. We do not have a size limit. However, larger dogs may need to be factored into your maximum occupancy.
All boats have a stereo with Bluetooth connectivity.
A 2 hour rental allows sufficient time to view the entire harbor and the incredible boats and houses. We do take 1 hour, 1.5 hour and 3 hour rentals as well. Please note that there is a two hour minimum on weekends and holidays. We offer one hour rentals on weekdays before 3.
During peak summer season, parking can be difficult on the weekends. Please allow ample time to park your car, as the lots do fill up. We recommend parking in the Balboa Pier parking lot off of Palm Street or a lot at A or B streets. Even better is to Uber or Lyft and avoid the headache of parking!
We ask that you check-in 15 minutes prior to the time of your rental. We require a waiver to be filled out prior to departure. It will save you some time if you fill it out before you arrive. We provide a link to fill out the waiver in your email confirmation.
Children and infants are welcome on the electric boats. All passengers regardless of age are counted as part of the boat capacity. The Coast Guard requires all children 12 and under to wear a life jacket at all times. Life jackets are provided for all passengers.
Absolutely. You can bring any food or drink on board. Please keep in mind that you will need a designated driver if alcohol is consumed on the boat. If the boat is left with a large mess we do reserve the right to charge a cleaning fee. For those bringing alcohol on board, please drink responsibly. The majority of boating accidents in the harbor occur when alcohol is involved and any damages to the boat will be the renter’s responsibility
You may decorate for birthdays but you must be aware that balloons are not allowed per the City of Newport Beach ordinances. Please be aware that you may not bring confetti, streamers or silly string as these have dyes in them that bleed and stain the upholstery when they get wet or damp. Damage charges will apply if any of these are brought aboard.
